Meet Two CASA Volunteers

In Coweta, more than 65 volunteer advocates serve nearly 110 children. Every day more children enter the foster care system in our area and need a CASA volunteer.

Larry Andrews has been a CASA volunteer for more than five years. "I encourage anybody who has a heart for vulnerable children to consider becoming a CASA volunteer; there isn't enough of us to go around".

Betsy Imes has been a CASA volunteer for more than eight years and said the experience has been eye-opening. "By investing in our foster children, we help them attain a better quality of life, which results in more contributing citizens in our community, versus repeating the generational cycle of poverty and substance abuse."

After completing training, CASA volunteers are sworn in by Coweta Juvenile Court  Judge Joseph Wyatt.

Training is both through an online forum and in-person classes.

Children experiencing foster care need a voice.  They need someone like you who can promote and protect their best interests.  As a CASA, that voice can be yours. CASA is the only organization that enables volunteers to work directly with children caught in a complex child protective system.

In Coweta, Heard and Meriwether Counties, there is always a need for additional CASA volunteers.  Let’s provide an advocate for every child experiencing foster care in this area.

Your voice can be the one that brings a child to a safe and permanent home. You can speak up for child victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment.

Volunteer with Coweta CASA, now.
